What is IIN, and what is a Health Coach?
The Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) has been a thought leader in the wellness industry since the 1990s. The importance of health and wellness is recognized globally, and IIN remains at the forefront of the industry.
Health coaching is an evolving field, and it’s growing more in popularity. With millions of people suffering from preventable lifestyle-related diseases, Integrative Nutrition Health Coaches are uniquely positioned to bring about lasting change in the lives of individuals all across the globe and help spread the ripple effect of empowered health and happiness.
Health Coaches use a forward-thinking approach. The support they offer is both ~ science and experience ~ based; it’s a combination of traditional and modern approaches, catered to each bio-individual client.
In addition to supporting clients with specific goals, Health Coaches empower clients to choose health-promoting behaviors that work for them. They raise awareness and offer support as clients move in their own bio-individual ways toward the greater health they want for themselves.
Coaching hopefully leads to long-term behavior change, but only because Health Coaches help clients do the meaningful work that forms a strong foundation.

Health Coaches are coaches who focus on health and wellness. They have a lot in common with life coaches, career coaches, and even athletic coaches!
Like other coaches, they approach coaching as a relationship. They’re partners throughout their clients’ journeys that consist of ongoing practice and feedback. All coaches help clients reach their full potential by raising awareness, making connections, identifying patterns, shifting limiting beliefs, using a growth mind set, and offering strengths based support.

The Health History Session is our first look at your overall well-being. There is a questionnaire *Health History Form* that you will carefully fill out before our scheduled appointment. The form is simple and will clear the path for you and I to get a birds eye view of your vision of the life you are yearning to live for.
Some of the topics *the form* goes over are:
*Current medications, herbs & supplements that you are taking (prescribed or over the counter)
*The health histories of your family
(your mother, father and their lineage)
*Your current overall lifestyle
(exercise, hobbies, favorite foods, relationships,
your occupation, your goals or ambitions.. etc)
*We will also explore your thoughts and motivations continuing forward in life.
Participants in a Health History session feel inspired and supported, which gives them a spark to make positive changes and bring more balance into their sense of integrated well-being.
If the session goes well and we share an inspired connection to invest in the process of balancing your personal health and wellness, the next step is the
6 month program.
A Health History Session is an opportunity to settle yourself into the present moment, see through the past, and move towards your future with power and grace.

The next step after completing the Health History Session is the 6 month program, when we will design your transformational plan.
The program engages us in an exchange long enough to allow for periods of ups and down, which will enable us to develop balanced strategies, empowering you to coach yourself once the program is finished.
There are *two options* for the 6 month program:
*Weekly sessions* or *bi-weekly sessions*
Weekly sessions are the deepest dive and require the most work and patience with yourself and the program.
Bi-weekly sessions offer a little more space and time off which removes the added stress of meeting weekly.
The goal of either program is exactly the same and the out come will reflect the effort and energy that we put into your personal progress plan.
After you graduate from the 6 month program we can schedule a monthly coaching session, or we can have a coaching session every three months.
(Sessions beyond the 6 month program are optional)
As the number of graduated participants grow, there will be group sessions to support, encourage, inspire, and learn through the experiences of each other. The group programs are a dynamic boost for confidence and sense of self purposefulness.

A few years after my high school graduation the entire world began to change as the "World Wide Web" and internet became part of daily life.
Although the world was heading in this new and grand direction, I was still very old fashion and preferred to learn by hearing from qualified teachers, reading books, learning from personal experience, and communicating with others who had grown and gathered information through their trials in life.
In my late 20's I began to experience transformation in my body from the reactions to my previous lifestyle of unhealthy choices and habits.
Although I was making much better lifestyle choices in the present moment my past life of unconsciousness needed to be purged, which appeared in my life as health challenges and imbalances. It felt like I was fighting for my life at times, although each trial made me more conscious of how to navigate the delicate balance of my well-being through the power of choice, and I remained dedicated and determined to reclaim my life and lifestyle.
As I made progress, wellness felt less and less like a tight rope and more like a good hiking path where I would find new scenic views across the landscape of my life. I learned that life was supposed to be challenging and that those challenges are what build character and a sense of personal strength through perseverance.
In 2018, I became aware of The Institute For Integrative Nutrition (a world renowned Health Coaching Certification program) through a co-worker of mine who was enrolled in the IIN program. We often got into discussions about the curriculum, and she would always say that I already knew everything they were teaching. Although that sounded like a nice complement, I wasn't so sure that it was 100% true.
In 2021, I graduated from IIN with my Integrated Nutrition Health Coaching Certification.
After having supported many friends and loved ones through their health and wellness journeys, as well as handling my own deep transformational process, I know that I have a lot to offer as a Health Coach, and it is now a part of my official skill portfolio.
